About the Discussion
The passing of the Agriculture Bill has unleashed a protest movement that is rooted in a deeper soil than the mere opposition to a reform plan for the agriculture sector. The movement is situated in continuation, and perhaps culmination, to forms of political and social mobilisations that were born in the context of the Green Revolution and in the subsequent rise and decline of kisan politics in Northern India. To discuss the significance of the moment and to offer keys to understand what is a stake for rural India, we gather three experts who ally deep knowledge of the agrarian world and its politics and sociology
