Lunch with Dr. S.Y. Quraishi – August 1, 2018

We had lunch with Dr. Quraishi where Dr. Quraishi told us about his experiences during the elections in Pakistan. He discussed his observations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. He also gave us a good comparative perspective of the Election Commissions in both India and Pakistan.

Rendezvous with Wendy Singer – July 30, 2018

Professor Singer from Kenyon College, Ohio, spent some time chatting with the team and interns at TCPD. Interns working on collecting information about women leaders from different states across the country shared their findings. Professor Singer then shared her experiences from the field and encouraged all of us to speak with women leaders about their own experiences and what representation means to them.

RTI Workshop with Venkatesh Nayak – July 28, 2018
Venkatesh Nayak and Shikha Chhibbar from the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI), Delhi spent the entire day engaging with us about the Right to Information Act (RTI) – Its origins? What is it? Which public authorities is it applicable and which public authorities are outside its jurdisdiction? Why is the RTI contentious? And why is it important? In addition to giving us information about RTI, they also helped us write our very own RTIs which was a useful exercise!
